Through our long-standing relationships with vessel designers and yards worldwide, we are able to assist clients with the shipbuilding process including slot availability, yard tender and selection, drafting and negotiation of contract and, where appropriate, contributing our specialist experience in the development of new concepts.

Defining the performance criteria is one of the essential first steps in acquiring any new tonnage and our team of brokers can help ascertain market trends and future technologies which could affect vessel performance or value during its lifetime. We have been strong advocates of flexibility in design criteria that allow for multirole capabilities which can increase revenue potential and intrinsic value, for example, cable installation vessels with offshore capabilities such as inclusion of subsea cranes and increased accommodation levels.
